Post by GJUK »

Hi,
Is there any chance we could increase the inbox size limit on here please?
Thanks,
Jon

I think we are constrained in that area but we will take a look.

The committee will look into the Website in general, but as ever it is down to functionality, cost, time, effort, porting data; etc.

I understand.
There are limited users though and storage costs should be minimal (probably nothing). Time wise there is a quick setting to limit private messages so ~5 minutes.

...I'm just being lazy wanting to save messages.

Are you saving all your messages for some reason? Why do you not just delete?

I thought a new site is under construction?

I've doubled the inbox quota Jon, see how you get on with that.

Cheers, Martin.

My memory is shocking, got lots of messages with tips/advice/links to places to buy items/how to's etc.

I have deleted some, but this is the 5th or so time I've reached 100% which made me think I'd raise it as a query (not a concern)

Cant help myself. :D If I drop a penny it hits me on the back of the head. :D

Surely a bit of transparency is not uncalled for?

I have no issue with transparency, I would prefer that the Club Treasurer responded on this point.

I will say that realistic funds have been set aside for the Web site and any upgrade / development.

However, this is not that straightforward; as it may be easy to create a new site on a different Platform, the challenge is working out how to migrate existing data without loss or corruption in a manner that is easy and reliable.

The committee is in the process of organising a meeting to work out how to take this forward.

Thanks for your interest.

Thanks for the genuine response Pete. :thumbright:

Maybe a breakdown of the funds and a proposed spending plan for the forthcoming year(s) should be something that could be considered?
