Rockauto

Post by Sandy »

Hi,

I am after some advice here please.

I ordered some parts from Rockauto. The order was split into two deliveries due to different depots.

The larger, heavier box arrived within a week but the smaller box (two drum cylinders, drum spring kit and grease seals) never seemed to make it past the transition from importer to UK courier. I assume, being a small box it has got lost or gone missing.

It may be me but the process for getting replacements through Rockauto's website seems clumsy and there doesn't seem to be any way of contacting someone direct to raise the issue.

I was unable to do anything with the order status until after the last expected/due delivery date and then altered the status to 'Carrier Lost' but there appears a message alongside the parts saying 'Trace started. If you do not receive the part by December 12, please let us know'.

Okay, tomorrow is the 12th of December but, as yet (and unless it appears by magic automatically tomorrow) there just doesn't seem to be any means of 'letting them know'.

Has anyone else had Rockauto parts go missing and, if so, how was it resolved?

Any help/advice appreciated? I have been buying Rockauto parts for many years and this is the first time anything has gone astray. It does seem to imply; order big, order heavy and order from one place though.

I call these companies if I have problems, for a sake of a couple of mins phone call you can at least sort our the issues. And get some form of guarantee from someone.

Many thanks.

I emailed them and replacements are on the way.

Not sure if if I had emailed them earlier they may have been on their way sooner, but as I said, most of what I have ordered has been biggish, or at least heavy-ish so may be less likely to go astray.
