Aftermarket ign switch wire query

I think I've sussed this, but any experienced input appreciated.
Aftermarket switch has the 5 usual thick wires for ign, but also an additional small black wire is added. That wire prevents me putting in the orange (column shift light) in its proper place in the wiring connector.

Worse, I read that the new black wire from the switch is a ground and will blow fuses if connected to the orange wire in the connector block?
Anyone had this issue?

Guess I'll have to cut the black wire as I can't get it out of the connector block
