Side trim

the 70's Polara will be going in for paint soon, to remove the side moldings is it a case of
1/ Don't go there !
2/ Simply remove the rubber infill (never to regain it's original shape) and unscrew the trim.
is the infill available ( green)and are the side trims screwed on ?

Trim is on clips,shouldn't be screwed on. Don't pull the rubber out.
