Yes, large diameter tyres were the thing then to allow for deeper staging. Getting the car as low as possible with the minimum frontal area is the thing now, so smaller diameter tyres are needed.

I have two 1/18 scale models of that Miss Mopar Duster. I got 2 while I was in the States so I could strip one and paint it my Duster's colour, but I haven't had the heart to do it yet!
