Burns night - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Post by Pete »

Hi there!

I have been informed of the following event. We don't plan to have a club presence, but individual members may wish to attend - it it certainly something out of the ordinary!!!

--------

Burns Supper + Ecurie Ecosse
Thursday, 25 Jan 18 @ 19:00

Happy New Year!

With the New Year comes Burns Night. A Burns supper is much more than a commemoration of the life of Scotland’s greatest poet. It is, above all else, about FUN.

Food, drink, good company and ‘entertainments’, which remind us - often with great humour - that life hasn’t changed very much in the last 250 years: love, sex, poverty, loss of identity and hypocrisy were as common then as now.
We thought we would take the opportunity to invite you to come and find out a bit more about our club, about Robert Burns and - just possible - about Jaguars & Scottish motor racing: all at the same time.

This is because, this year, we couple this fond remembrance of Robert Burns with a celebration of the Border Reivers and the 70th anniversary of the last Ecurie Ecosse victory at Le Mans.

Dress is smart casual. Tartan is optional but would be a nice touch – go as fancy as you like! There will be prizes for the best dressed gentleman and the best dressed lady.

There are only 40 places – and only about 15 left. Please book in with Front of House.

We hope to see you there.
