See the good old British pound is on the up, £1.42 to the Dollar.
Was £1.23 when I brought the Coronet over in November :

The pound hasn't really moved much - at the moment it's the dollar that's falling vs every other currency.

On the topic of bringing larger items over, I know Ron has his containers, but is there a proper formula for working out duties on new imported parts? Is it just vat on top of the invoice amount and shipping?

If you go onto the HMRC web site you can check out the commodity codes, but its hard work, as there is a code for everything.
You can tell how much duty is payable for the item or items you want to import. Then plus VAT

I find it better to buy via eBay, and use the global shipping program, you pay the shipping and all import and duty's and vat up front, so no nasty surprises from parcel force.
