mot exemption

Post by gmopar59 »

Anyone considering this or done it, looking for info on the procedure? I'm in NI and just received my renewal letter. The list of vehicles that are exempt doesn't mention cars over 40 years old. Our local centre is now a drive in Covid test facility for NHS staff so i will get a 3 month extenstion (not that i'll be driving it). Obviously this hasn't be approved over here yet. As the car has english reg, i was thinking of applying to Swansea.

Unless it's different in NI, you should get the option to declare it MOT exempt when you next tax it on line. Assuming it's already flagged as a historic vehicle on the DVLA database.

Cheers Adam, yes it is registered as a historic vehicle. I'll look into that when the tax is up, i know it's after the original mot date 17 may. :thumbright:
