I think the pressure relief spring is playing up in the oil pump, as my oil pressure sometimes drops off on idle but comes back up when i put some revs on the motor.
Do i need to drop the oil to remove the oil pump and check/clean the spring?

You don't even need to drop the oil pump...

Oil pump is held on with 4 bolts, pump will pull out & also rotate if you need the space.
When you put it back, you have to align with distributor hex drive. Hex drive is driven from cam which in turn drives the pump.
Pump is self explanatory & easy to clean. Spring retainer might be tight if uts not been out for a few years, but shouldn’t be a big deal

Thanks Mark. I’ll give the spring a good clean first and go from there.
