B Body idler arms, straight v cranked

Post by Anonymous »

New idler arm arrived today but its straight, not curved like my old one, anyone else ever had that prob, and do u think its ok? ALso it doesnt seem to fit in the K member unless i leave the two spacer washers out.

K member may be bent there though because old idler had only one washer, so it coulda got pinched too tight by a previous muppet.

I think it's supposed to be straight - I'll check a couple of cars tomorrow. I had a washer issue on the last one I replaced - I think I got at least one in there

hi, yes i wondered if the 'old' one was wrong . well i fitted the new'n on (with one thinner-than-normal washer and she seems to be ok, the arm is same length and height, only thing that is CLOSE is the grease nipple on the K member end, it touches the bracket (just) on full lock, hopefully its ok.
