Spotted it on the forum but im not a member anymore so couldnt reply (still have a daily read) - keep meaning to re-reg but im moparless at the moment anyway.
I sold it to Dunc in March I think it was and saw he sold it on pretty much straight away. Didnt want to let it go but just had no time or cash to get moving on it, on the up shot I do have a new bathroom now?!
Looks spot on in matt I reckon - fair play that man.
I havent got much detail on the car really, other than what Dunc would have already told him.
I brought the car from a bloke called Ian Sells, he took it the Nats (Its in the 2004 Nats DVD - Burnout competition), dont know how much he took it down the qtr mile but said he was getting consistant low 13 and was in the 12 once? I never had chance to.
I had the car for probably a year but it wasnt used between probably Sept 05 and March 06 as I had 'grand plans' for it.
I know theres was some welding required in places (Bulk head, Chassis rail toward the back). The exhausts and tyres were pretty new when I brought it and it didnt clock up much mileage with me.
Did have a load of trouble with batteries, but it wasnt getting used much so what can I expect?! Driving was fine, it didnt like the cold, it struggled to stop and steering was at times a challenge but I think this is pretty standard?!
Did have some trouble with the timing initially which I got reset and the carb may have benefitted from a recondition/replacement but I imagine Dunc would have sorted out most of this - other than that hes got a great car and a solid runner!
Cheers,
Dave
