Brake drum springs

Would it matter if i didnt have the spring that wraps round the brake drum as 1 is missing?

I don't think they're safety related,just some attempt at stopping brake squeal,canceling out vibration frequency.

I think they were a crude attempt at cooling the drum! don't worry about it, I am sure it will be fine.

I have one missing as well, no adverse effects though, still stops and drives ok
