HYDROLIC SAFTEY SWITCH

i don't think they are being reproduced by any body yet ?, i think ( fine lines ) or ( classic tube ) can rebuild them , also i think ( mp brakes) do it also .
it works by if the front or rear braking pressure is lost a spring contact makes a electrical circuit with the safety switch witch lights up on the dash . try your old one first , carefully flush your old one out with clean brake fluid using a small syringe with out the needle. connect it back up bleed the brakes, then see if the warning light goes off . , once connected up and the brakes are bleed if it still does not go off , give it a light tap, as if it has not been on the car for some time it can get stuck . it does not affect the brakeing only used to trip a warning light if there is a pressure loss .

Hi Craig,
The switch fit's into a valve body which is plumbed into the brake system after the brake cylinder it has a central spool that relies on even hydraulic pressure both sides to keep it in a central position.
As you know the Chrysler brakes are separated front to rear such that if either the front or the rear brake system looses pressure the spool is forced towards the the opposite end and trips the safety switch which switches on a red warning light on the dash.
The basic idea is that you should still have half the brakes working and should still be able to haul the mother up.
they fitted them right up to 1978 so any old Chrysler should provide one.
Hope this helps.
Bob.
