7.25" rear...

How much power/torque will a 7.25" rear take? I have one with highway gears (2.23 I think) in my Fifth Avenue. Eventually I want to swap in a 8.75" but am looking at doing some upgrades to the motor very soon and am worried as I've heard about chocolate diffs and tooth pick half shafts in these axles....

Any thoughts?

good! Just a question of gears then. Lowest gears for a 7.25" seem to be 2.7s and thats no good to me. I have heard of guys breaking the ring gear in 7.25s with small blocks in Volares and Diplomats so I got a bit worried. I can live with the gears until I get an OD trans in it (if I get an OD trans in it)
