Water pump housing again

Post by Mick »

I am fitting an alloy rad and decided to repaint the waterpump and pulleys in the light blue to match the motor.
I would like opinions on my plan of attack, shot blast housing and pulleys then spray them, what paint should i use, considering it will get warm, it will have to be either brush or spray can.
Would aerosol, be OK, if so, i can get some mixed to the right colour.

if you have a bit of paint to match go to any halfords , they can mix N match loads of colours. as for preperation use a good etching primer ( i use por8) and then the top coat . this will do most engine components with no problems, block heads inlet etc.
too much is never enough

Is the heat of the housing a factor or not, with an aerosol.
