have you tightened the flex plate bolts to engine, torque converter bolts to flex plate, has it got the trans lower shield could the converter bolt heads be hitting it, its quite common

The flex plate bolts are special hardened bolts with a flatter head than normal. If you have used normal bolts on the convertor that will hit the block.

well just had the charger outside on the ramps and got the old stethascope out and at its loudest point the noise is at the inspection plate on the trans so its bk in the carport and we'r gunna drop the sarter whip the plate off and try it without, did check all flex plat bolts they are the shallow head bolts and all were tight let you no wot happens in a couple off hour

Didn't make any difference with ours. We used the same bolts and the same bell housing cover and it only started after we put it back together. :x Didn't seem to matter how much we bashed it about with the old all-purpose-multi-tool ('Ammer) just couldn't stop them fouling. You could clearly see the scuff marks every time. Ended up cutting the centre section out of the plate to shut the damn thing up.

Had the same on Julie's 62 Dart/ 2 Convertor covers, looked exactly the same - one rubbed, one didn't; you can guess which one I fitted first
