I have a repair section for that part of the chassis rail, but I have a feeling I am going to need it on mine before long.

Guess it dont look good.. power tools and beer in the same picture
I have made a repair section James, but have been thinking of converting to rack and pinion steering so then i could remove the steering box mounting lugs, just can not make my mind up, i have seen a thread that i think Dave posted about a kit you can buy in aus. Anyboby ever done a steering convertion...?

never done one mate

but i have read a lot about them

do stay well clear of the hemi performance cradle setup its meant to be poooooooooooooh

I have heard nothing but praise for the Steve Norris K frame and holden rack conversion. (Ozhemi Tweety's mate/aquaintance has one in the US, may be able to get first hand reccomendation)

kit gets you K frame rack and splined steering coupler

may need to adjust the ID of the holes in your steering knuckles to fit holden track rod ends

aussie google elco (elko?) performance Melbourne (they sell dodge trucks)

easier if you ring em up

use ratebuster and is 2p a minute

however

your steering box if manual is the same as RHD barracuda box
and uses the exact same internals as many other US boxes (only the case differs)
completely rebuildable and you can convert it to a better ratio using parts from firmfeel in the US i.e reengineerd ballnut or longer pitman arm and idler. Or both for a nutcase 13:1 ratio (that will snap your chassis rail if nothing else will) instead of 20:1

Power box and i'm lost but i do have a NOS sector shaft for one if you get the urge.

again i have heard that the internals are the same and only the case differs, trouble is you can't quote part number to a statside supplier and when it comes to Abody b body e body designation of parts you are stuck as well

chances are it will be pre 70 in design origin

Blue has Bill Reiley's 'AlterKtion' kit on his Dart. That looks like a good piece of kit, the only change I would make from the original kit I saw was the addition of an anti roll bar.

Love the look of the alterktion kit james, bit outa my range price wise, think the wife made a valid point this afternoon, she reckons ive enough to do without changing the steering set up, also she did mention something about a new kitchen

I agree that will look really tidy, mine is nothing like that, lots of overspray and P38 and hammerite!
