A needle scaler is is an air tool full of round ended needles that rattle backwards and forwards and remove scale and rust, they leave a good surface to apply paint to, I can get you one if you want.

They are reduced at Machine Mart at the minute (But I can still get one cheaper) If you confuse this with the ones MS Summers sell you had best book the paramedic in advance.

There is a Machine Mart locally here, I'll check it out and get back to you. How much cheaper can you get them? And are they any good for getting into difficult corners?

Other than that I guess the main advantage is not having loads of media floating around to get into sealed casings and knacker mechanical parts?

Can they be used on body work too or is there a better way to do that? I gotta remove a load of old underseal and old tar off the bottom of the car too.

underseal/tar/goop is best removed with a scraper and maybe some heat to soften it. A bit of celly thinners helps too. When you got the bulk of it off a wire brush cup in a drill or grinder (again with celly thinners to help it on its way) shifts the thinner layers and then just wipe off the sticky residue with an old cloth soaked in (you guessed it) celly thinners.

Its a sod of a job, but not found any brilliant other sollutions. Sand doesn't shift it.
