bare metaled the underside, engine bay & boot (almost done)
hardest job ive done for a while
Am going to spray it with the zinc anti rust stuff from www.frost.co.uk (cheers nigel for that info)
then spray it with smothright or the new almost smooth-fine stonchip
not sure wheather to paint engine bay black again or I'm well tempted to paint it red ? (underneath & boot will be black) what does anyone think ?

And what is taking all the weight of the front of the car? The inner wing. Not strong enough. Some have collapsed in the US.limeycharger wrote:How come Dave?
I would have thought that losing a pile of weight off the front end and replacing the torsion bars witha coilover setup would be massively beneficial?
Oh yeah - and Andy - Don't take Mick Jagger's advice! Paint it Red! My inner fenders/radiator yoke/firewall are all matt black, and I hate it. It should be Red, like the rest of the car.......
As for the bare-metalling job..
Much respect! I stripped my Land Rover chassis and it was the muckiest and toughest job I have ever done - including building work.
I used smoothrite - It was top stuff - the new stuff with stonechip sounds like its the dogs bits and pieces.
