Yea the .590 is a very old design but still produces good power, needs a lot of static compression to perform, probably work even better with 12.5-1. I was playing about with some figures a couple of weeks ago and you could see how the .590 and the .509 really "bleed off" the static compression.

yes blue rik berrys old 440 had 12-5-1 and a 590 ran in the 11s yrs ago in a stock bodied rrunner also sound awesome

The duration figure will determine the dynamic compression , tighter LSAs (more overlap) will not neccesarily bleed down any more compression.Kev wrote:If your static is, say 12:1, but the dynamic is bled down to say 9:1 by a big overlap on the cam you'll get away with regular pump gas....
