I don't like the look of those CAP lower arms at all, especially not for the street, and I fail to see how they could be any lighter, it's not like the original items are exactly heavy, but they are robust. Same goes for billet, bet they are no lighter in reality, in fact I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I've got a stock lower arm to weigh.

The rose jointed strut rods are very good though, much more positive location and no binding, must be heavier than stock though....

Slowly but surely, things are moving on.......

Spent Saturday re-assembling the motor. I originally tore down the motor just to replace the pistons, and have the rotating assembly re-balanced (if needed) However, this opened up a whole new can of worms. The Mains and Big End bearings looked like they had been rolling around in a cement mixer - scratched to Bananarama! to be exact  Oil pump rotor didnt look much better either..... So, while the crank was away, it had a polish - fortunately no grind needed. New bearings all round, oil pump and a very thorough clean! - Bob's your aunty :thumbright:

Sunday, flat in polish the recently painted engine bay, installed new brake lines, and generally prepare to replace the motor and trans - a job for next weekend for sure :thumbright:

Things are starting to move a bit faster now, although I did want to be finished by now

Finally managed to get the Motor n Trans in. Despite have NO ROOM, it was a very simple affair.

Its time to assemble, and get to work re-wiring the engine bay

Couldn't resist dropping the 'Twin Towers' on to see how they look

Getting close to a finish  It's all those small jobs that take time :?

Just got a few jobs to do including a few wiring alterations, bleed the brakes and align the steering (that's gonna be fun  ) and some other odds n sods. Other than that its gonna be coolant, oil & plugs, prime the oil pump and go for a start :?

Panel up, then off to the MOT station 6 months late
