yes i think there should be clips that slot into oblong holes in the inner edges of the window opening

you will find that the strips across the window opening will only come off properly if you take off any 1/4 vent windows (if you have them)

not an issue if you have 1 piece glass windows....however it is this action getting the 1/4 back on in the right place fore, aft, in, out, up, down that dicates how much fun you will have afterwards because it dicates where the side glass fits in relation to the door and the rear glass.

i.e the side glass in, out, fore, and aft positioning is no longer independant because it uses the back of the 1/4 window frame as its runner.

but its up and down stops are.

the runners for the back of the side glass in the door are adjustable.
however they need to be compatible with the door glass. if your door glass has a crome edge to its back end or not dictates the style and positioning of this runner.

if your door glass doesn't have a chrome edge trim strip to its back edge then your back windows will have one on the front and your back windows trim needs to go inside of the door glass

otherwise its the other way around and the door glass needs to sit far enough out so that its trim strip goes up the outside of the rear window glass. i.e positioning of the side glass rear guide can be different in identical doors but from different years as lessons were learnt about wind noise and crappy seals.

EG on an aussie val

fixed rear window uses front door glass with trim strip
pop out rear windows with frame used front door glass with trim strip for 6 months
pop out rear windows without frame had trim strip on them so front door glass had to go outside it. hnce the rear guide in the door had to handle a plain edge to the glass and be positioned accordingly for the new style of window and rubber strip in an identical door

the door never changed.....just everything else

anyway they (the rear guides in the door) bolt on to tabs in the top off the door and in the base of the door and are held on with captive bolts and flange nuts of the mopar style.

however the tabs and captive bolts do tend to come loose and you may find rivets and all sorts in there

Is that clear???? :)

any way i can highly reccomend the appropriate pages from a dealership workshop manual as the best place to start.

or get adam to do it :)
