If only the engine and gearbox mounts were stiffer it would have been so quick.

The Uk Vipers were at the ring a couple of days later for some fun.

Guy got a suspected bill for 400K for written off cars track time and Armco.

Scary stuff :help:

Nice one Dave. Certainly shows what a tricky track it is
There's sudden death over a few of those blind crests if you get 'em mixed up
You can almost feel it bottoming out over the concrete repairs on one of the corners!
No-one will believe you...

My first thoughts watching that were that he was spending a long time on the rev limiter, but then I read down some of the comments and saw this :
Rev limiter is ok...the time it would take him to:

1) Upshift
2) Accelerate more
3) Downshift
4) Decelerate (more)

..would take longer than the time he's on the limiter.

Shifting also upsets the vehicles balance, which costs a longer distance over time at a higher speed, to settle out in order to make your next smooth entry/exit/transition.

Of course, it takes a racer to understand that a rev limiter isnt a limitation necessarily.
Interesting reading. :read2: Any seasoned circuit racers clarify this? :-k

Looks like the turn into Karussel would shove your arse up into chin, with the thump it takes on the way in!
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Common sense really, when I was racing autograss it was a case of holding it on the redline (not so bad on a stock A series angine, lol)
