My first thoughts watching that were that he was spending a long time on the rev limiter, but then I read down some of the comments and saw this :
Any seasoned circuit racers clarify this?
Looks like the turn into Karussel would shove your arse up into chin, with the thump it takes on the way in!
Interesting reading.Rev limiter is ok...the time it would take him to:
1) Upshift
2) Accelerate more
3) Downshift
4) Decelerate (more)
..would take longer than the time he's on the limiter.
Shifting also upsets the vehicles balance, which costs a longer distance over time at a higher speed, to settle out in order to make your next smooth entry/exit/transition.
Of course, it takes a racer to understand that a rev limiter isnt a limitation necessarily.
