rear springs advice

Anyone know of anywhere in the midlands that does this?

if not i may have to go to brost forge as my springs are crap and the claps are loose. :shock:

when i was looking there were very few places in england that re-temper springs so i'm lucky brost forge is in my back yard if i can help let me know.

Funnily enough, there's a place in Bridgnorth that does this, but not investigated in the end because we bought super stocks instead.

I'm going up to see our local friendly engineer later, he'll know. If I remember I'll ask him. :thumbright:

Craig, checked with our man, he says British springs won't take one off's anymore. :( Bit short sighted in the current climate though, I thought. Might be worth a try to see if you can talk them into it? Oddly enough, he said the blacksmith up the road would do 'em. :D

Forgot to say. They look a lot like the 5.5 leaf 440/426 Challenger springs.

Talked to a spring place in West Bromwich today, found there number on a classic car web site.

Said they cold do them if there not to pitted or weakened.

Gonna take them in next week and show them.

They said they usually charge £50 +vat for large leaf springs.


just have to see what they say. :roll:

Took my leaf springs into a place in west bromwich yesterday.
Think there called ADWIN SPRINGS.

should have them ready within 1 week.

will let you know if there anygood or not. :thumbright:
