My guess would then be that there was a vibration/balance issue either with the convertor or the motor.....have you got the BIG hemi 'vertor bolts or the soppy stock ones?

They are an odd size, I think they are3/8 unf, sussex autos made it and they couldn't give me any bolts to go with it!
Thinking it may be an idea to throw the Bananarama! in the bin and start again, where would be a good place to get a new one?

I agree. I INSISTED that Sussex Autos put in feet to take the 7/16" bolts.
You can then use the ARP 12 pointed bolts for better purchase when tightening. I have ground a ring spanner flat to increase the engagement with the bolt.
ARP bolts Pete , must be real close if not scraping the block , if you grind em down then how would you get a purchase? , they already have a washer type seating which makes it worse.
