When you reassembled your diff was there a spacer between the two half shafts in the middle of the diff. when you put it back together did you first put the other side in and the the adjustable side second and the do the adjustment.

as far as the manual says you need to put the none adjustable one in first and tap it to seat it and the tighten the bolts and them install the other side and again tap is to seat it and then tighten the bolts and do the adjustment.
the spacer is called a thrust block. Its a long round steel bar with a elongated hole in it and is directly in the middle of the half shafts and is about the same diameter as the shafts. It is fixed in with a pin but if the diff has been dismantled it my have been left out.

all i would do is unbolt the adjustable side and then unbolt other side and then refit in correct order first and the readjust and see how you go. If its new the trust block should be there it can be a problem on a old diff thats been fiddled with.
Let me know how you get on

Back the adjuster right off (pas side) , button the drivers side up , nip adjuster back up & whack the shaft a couple of times , go round to drivers side & give that a couple of whacks , set endfloat , job done.

or stick a set of green bearings in & forget about adjuster/endfloat.

If you look through the axle you can see the spacer.

I have heard there can be problems after fitting those green bearings.

But can't for the life of me remember what the problem is.

Just stick to the stock bearings. Your problem is probably down to not fitting the drivers side axle fully home first.

ive read on some other forums that you have to remove thrust block to use green bearings with a sure grip.ive took shafts out & put driver side in first but no difference, trouble is dont know wot it was like before didnt check it just took it apart.just wondering if when i pulled half shafts out first time maybe i could have pulled bearing off slightly & now its not going in as far as it should could that be an option. :? cheers steve

reading the manual the bearing is a very tight fit so i dought they moved on the shaft when you removed them. So the problem you are having is that the drivers side has too much end float once adjusted.

Is the axle your original and you brought a new third member and using the original half shafts or did you by the axle and using you half shafts. Tell the story from the beginning and that may solve the problem.
