Rear Gear Carnage!

Post by Kev »

My mate's 742 with 4.10s and a spool. BOOM! Anyone got any soft Pro gears about 3.91s (soften the launch!) or are these unavailable. I've only found 4.86s in "Pro" style at Randy's Ring and Pinion. Any other leads. Very urgent.....

Geezer needs 'em next Tuesday :shock: Didn't know if anyone had any knocking around as they are unsuitable for street use. If you could get a quote on 3.91 Pro gears for 742 that would be great. I think if he wants to get out quick he'll have to have street gears.

Aha! The ol' 742 Vs. 489 debate! 742; Stronger case, smaller pinion. 489; Weaker case, bigger pinion. Will sir be requiring a new set of gears, or a new housing? Over the years of debate on Moparts I think they are both equal in terms of strength. Swings and Roundabouts. Prepare for the flak! The axle is living (Dying?) behind this;

It's a 350ci small block chevy. It's supercharged, fuel injected and runs on 85% Nitromethane.

Would that be Mister Mental perchance?

Tell him to squeeze a tube of Signal into the axle next time, that's supposed to be good for strong, healthy teeth :D
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

I would have thought Dentu-grip would have been better for keeping his teeth in place Ivor :D

He said it was making a bit of a whirring sound getting worse each time he was being towed back to the pits but sounded alright up on the jacks.

I've seen the MP case blue but I don't think it was that one I was thinking about.

I'm 90% sure i've read on the internet somewhere about a real strong ally case, can't remember where though.

As you say probably wouldn't stand up to that anyway :D
