I think this car will pretty much stay as it is, I will just keep it as a cruiser. Go to the shows and meets and just put some miles on it.
Billy got it out of storage, cleaned it all up. A few little problems, over the winter it has leaked some trans fluid. I will change the pan gasket, hopefully that will sort it.
Engine has developed a noise! It is a strange noise, so I need to find out what that is. It runs great though, so smooth!
So I think, I may just put a nice ICE system in, and perhaps change the wheels. Just to give it a slightly modded look. Then carry on with some airbrushing on it. Not a lot. I have permission to use any Roth material from his widow. So I guess "Finky" will still go on there somewhere.
I would love to put a dual exhaust system on there to give it a nice sound, but TTI are the only suppliers of headers. TOO expensive for my pocket at the moment. So may have to look at another option there.
If you plan to keep it in the short term then that makes sense - keep it as standard and low profile as possible to avoid minimizing your re-sale opportunities later on.
I thought there were "Tri-Y" headers out there for Polys????
A Poly ("A") is a very heavy boat anchor, as opposed to being a medium weight boat anchor.
Physically quite big with some interchangeable parts with an "LA" (Light "A") 318 - 360 series.
Finding a bit more favour now as you can put cast stroker cranks in them and over-bore then an amazing amount to make a quite big-inch motor. Tuning parts are hard to come by.
The heads were known as semi-hemi (Hence the "Poly" - Polyshperic) and quite advanced thinking, some of which has been copied on the latest production hemis.
Finally! Got to go out in the Fury this evening... Drove to a local cruise. Great turnout, about 120 cars. Met another Mopar owner, he has about 8! He was with his 18 year old son, in his sons Duster.
Looking forward to seeing his shop real soon. Summer looks like it has finally arrived. Another cruise tomorrow night.
