I have only flown a plane once before with a little help from a pilot. But a modern plane is much easier to control.

I could in theory have taken off myself and flown it. But I doubt I would have gotten very far.

The controls are a LOT more sensative than in a modern aircraft. It only took the smallest of pressure and a tiny amount of movement on the joystick to produce large movements on the bi-plane.

In the end I was only allowed 5 mins on the controls once we were in the air and I was glad it was no more than that because it was really tricky.

Even this experienced pilot made a bit of an arse landing the thing. We had a good hard bounce on the grass. I'm not even that type of boy.

Pete spotted i had no gear box oil cooler at the show

I got and old engine oil cooler from a mates rice burner and my mate
(aircon man) made up some copper pipe work.

Will this be ok to keep my oil cool:?

That is the best kind of cooler you can fit and notice how it is not up against the radiator.

Take note others.

Yup- got one o those off Dunc for my Truk. Still ain't fitted it tho...

how did you see that

I have left a 2-3 inch gap between the rad and cooler.

(the rad in off set abit and does not sit flush so there is a gap )

As long as you have at least a quarter-half inch gap. More is better. But it looks like the rad will have that when in place? Didn't look like a 2-3 inch gap was possible though?
