no a charger will always fetch more money, its a select few that see money in challengers,

This applies to anything - it is mostly supply and demand and what is in fashion to a point.

I have found this selling the Harley, but there is not a lot of money out there at the moment so in general things to have to be priced to sell.

Also if you have the money and it is something you have a real passion about then you will spend the extra money to get exactly what you want. Not everyone wants a fixer-upper.....

Strange, but once I had two members turn down a great car because it was "not good enough"....and it ultimately changed hands at over £12k more.....

At the end of the day classic Mopars in this country are a limited interest item. More people WILL identify with a MK2 Escort than a Challenger. A Challenger is NOT part of the UK heritige.

As with any deal, if both buyer and seller are happy then that is all that matters.

Red with white interior and vinyl top

These cars have dropped as far as the basic cars ,and the more rare cars have dropped also

There are those of us that love em and keep em and those that try to make money on them in a limited market and in some cases they have gotten a ton of money but that is RARE,

I spoke with the AMD sale rep and he claims they cant keep parts for both cuda ,challengers on the shelf

I asked about 71 cudas since they are one of the rarest years and with less than 17,000 total for the year produced wouldent one think that the market would eventually dry up?

He said no due the fact people are now taking72 and up, rusty or wrecked cars and replacing the parts with 71 cuda parts.

I always had Mopars cause they were somewhat inexpensive to own and run...............but now jeeze some of the prices are just plain stupid

You can get e-bodies easy enough at low prices. But you will find (despite what Sir Budge thinks) that the numbers matching 440 and 426 cars still hold a high price no matter where in the world you are.

Actually Budgie, in all seriousness. If you could get me a smart 340 or 360 powered 1970 Challenger T/A CLONE for around £10K (based on your £20K 440 R/T price) then I would sell the Corvette and buy that. SERIOUSLY. But it would have to need no paint or bodywork.

See what you can find for me and we can work something out.

I sold a real six-pack 69 Superbee for £2000 just under 20 years ago! Yes it needed a motor/trans and a resto, but it was worth alot more!
Now all done its worth $75k or £50k in the Uk.
Am I upset, yes a little, but I didn't have the time/money to do it!
The guy who did all the work, sweated blood/tears and alot of hard cash.
He did it cos he loved the car and wanted to bring this wonderful piece of Mopar History back to life.
Only someone has restored a car knows what it really costs!
As we all know, the easy resto's have mostly gone now!
So the ones that are left require alot work and heaps of cash.
This in theory will drive up prices?

Most people neither have the time or resources to restore cars, so they buy done cars, it makes sense!

Why does a bolt on accesssory such as a Six-pack increase the value by $20k?
Its speculators and investors that have driven the crazy prices not real MoparFolks.

Its all about good timing, the right person wanting a particular car with the right amount of money.
If there's no buyer when you is selling, that's a big problem!

Our yellow 71 Barracuda convertible cost us just a grand 10 years ago

...whats that worth ??

Genuine car with its original SB engine and box as well to go with the 440/6 motor, not a 70 made to look like a 71
