With my car I have fitted big block torsion bars in a small block car and I still have to wind the adjusted bolt almost all the way in to get the ride height I want. Try installing them in with the lca in a higher position the adjust the bolt and see if you can get the ride height you want, you have the bar already and you can't return them so you have nothing too loose.
You could also try fitting them with the lca at it's lowest point and then put the weight of the car on the wheel and they may settle as they are new and have never been twisted. When you are doing one side at a time and you put a jack under one lca at a time and trying to lift it back into position you are only lifting a small portion of the cars full front weight as you are on jack stands and the car will rock and lift off the stands. Install both bar and lower the whole front of the car down to see what ride height you are getting.
With my car when I install mine the bolt is only just in the nut with no bump stop and the I fit the bar and and then lower the car and bounce the front and the install the bump stop and the raise the car enough to get under and the tighten the bolt until I get the ride height I want.
Take some picture to show use how far out your bits are.

You may have a point about doing both sides at once. When i get my lazy backside back in the garage i will take a pic or two.ANTON wrote:With my car I have fitted big block torsion bars in a small block car and I still have to wind the adjusted bolt almost all the way in to get the ride height I want. I had major problems getting my ones back in too. Ended up undoing the bolt in the control arm almost all of the way out but took ages moving the bolt a bit & retrying over & over again!
Didn't think it was ever going to go in! I also removed the upper control then suddenly with a bit of brute force it was in!
