Leaf spring repairs
I found out today that one of the leafs in my drivers side rear spring is broken. Having heard bad things about the quality of new replacement springs I was considering getting it repaired rather than buying new. Does anyone have first hand experience of repaired springs and if so what's the verdict ? Worth doing or not ?

Cheers Ade. When are you thinking of going ? I'm not working next week so was considering taking a trip up myself.Adrian Worman wrote:I'll be goin to see Uncle Dunc in a little while mate so if u want me to bring any stuff back and drop it at the Buckingham shop you're welcome

Most things on the car are done up finger tight, Steve. Rusted solid would make a change I suppose.Latil wrote:Be prepared, you'll most likely need a new centre bolt, the old ones are often rusted solid through the leaves.

Thanks for the info guys.

Wrap them in denso tape, keeps them lubricated and out of the weatherPete wrote:When you finish the leaf springs what is the best way of painting/treating them so that the movement between the leaf springs does not create rust and show through....Don't really want to dismantle them either as I am lazy
