The down and dirty method if you're really stuck, is to put on a pair latex gloves and hold your fingers lightly ever the outlets as you gently pump,it's messy, but it works just as well.

Thanks Blue, sounds like a good option if the bits don't fit my ports.
I could just clamp it to a fence out the back and put a big drip tray under it.

Some of the MC fittings are bigger than UK ones, from memory one is 9/16" and the other 1/2"but you can get adapters to take them down to UK imperial size

Spoke to Terry (minty) today, tipped me off on one of the aussie parts sites that lists the fittings.
They are 1/2" and 9/16" I measured my ports as 20 tpi with a thread gauge and the size is a match too.

Points go to JohnR and Terry. :thumbright: :thumbright:

I wouldnt worry steve... I managed, unintentionally I must add, to turn a thread requesting timing tape into a full blown discussion on how to set my cars timing to the correct settings for the fuel Im running!..... Nobody moaned and I learned how to do it, the theory behind it and most importantly for me, gained the confidence to have a go and not be afraid to tackle it!!! :thumbright:

Now I might try turning a carb tuning thread into one about dealing with pubescent teenagers!!!! :help: :thumbright:

No thread hijack Steve, I posted it just so it would help other poeple de-mystify what turned out to be a straightforward job. Nothing like building confidence for the next job :thumbright:
