Thanks Dave I went on the Mallory site but it seams a bit of a mine field as there are so many different types of e-core coils.
Drew did you have any luck with the type that your friend uses.
Cheers Dave

Ok I talked to one of my Gurus Mopower Masters, and they have only used the old style Edlebrock , People with the most success with Fuel injection on older engines use the F.A.S.T. system.
after reading your thread a bit more I wonder if Edlebrock has a high voltage unit? or can you use an MSD Blaster coil?
They said you should contact Edlebrock and see what they say,
maybe they left the coil out of the kit by mistake, that has happened to me alot these days..................
Post what you end up with I really want to know, btw what engine/car are you putting this on?

Hi Drew tanks for that.
I think it is the first generation of the pro-flo multi point electronic fuel injection they have now bought out a pro-flo 2 kit. It does not come with a coil it states in the instructions to use a hei type (non ballast resistor) coil.
I have emailed Edelbrock several times but they have not replied.

I belive any HEI coil will do
you just need a plastic coated laminated frame coil off anything made since about 1990 or a chevy that had a catalytic converter from 1974 owards
OEM is fine they kick so much ass over and above a oil filled cylinder coil that you don't have to invest in any aftermarket shenanigans that are painted red
basically a coil with 0.5 ohms or less resistance designed to run at 12 volts with a transformer E or H laminated core.
laminated core concentrates magentic flux way better than the solid soft iron cores in cylinder coils hence more bang for you buck
this would work it just has daft oem connectors for the mounting bay in the top the mahooosive HEI Dizzy cap where it usually sits
cut em off and use spades or bullets

here is an ebay search
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_pppn= ... arParts_SM
take ya pick
red n yella positive and negative
black is earth
also used on renults peugeots jeeps
ford do a similar one
US ebay
or any one of the UK Chevy focused suppliers
GM GMC Chevy Truck 74 - 86
coil in cap or remote mount HEI coil
once its running right
open up the plug gaps a tad and reset timing, give the coil a bit of exercise

Thanks Dave that makes sense using a GM one because all they use GM bits for all the sensors in the kit I just couldn't understand why they didn't recommend one. I all
always thought that hei coils were in the distributor cap but I have not work on Latter GM vehicles only stuff up-to the mid 1980s.
Cheers and thanks to everyone that replied to this post.
