Yes. If you use normal oil in the diff you need the additive. Any oil that is specifically made of LSD units has the same additive in already. The stuff I use is about ?10 for 5 litres.

Can I be amazingly thick and ask what is so special about LSD lube compared to axle oil?
When you bed the LSD in, what is actually being "bedded" in?

The "S" in the "LSD" bit.

Spose I asked for that
What sort of material is the "S" bit made from? Is it like a brake/clutch material that beds in or is it a gear and pinion bedding in together?

Sorry my reply was slightly unclear, I got the impression I could only use EP90 and the additive in Suregrips, no other LSD lube would do (ie for Capris etc).

Clivey. It is a clutch type thing. When newly re-built they grip a bit too well and the diff acts like a locked diff with too little or no slippage.
After a bit of use it sorts itself out and slips when asked to so you can get around corners without one wheel trying to go too fast.
