that's a great clip, is the blower connected, I was under the impression that a blower was always running when the engine was, didn't think you could have it either on or off like in the film

It is a replica of the film car and the dummy blower works the same way as on the film car - via the air con pump pulley!

Actually, in the film the blower belt is driven by an electric motor, but, you are right, Dave, Adrian has hooked up a Peugeot air con compressor.

Did you seen it run at Mellerstain ? It is pretty effective sounding.

I thought it had its own electric motor. Anywho, to answer Rebel, Mercedes and Toyota have made superchargers that engage with solenoids; it saves a lot of petrol if its off at idle and very low throttle apparently.

Really, that's worth knowing, at least it will be when my Ranchero's ready for the blower!

Neither of those would be suitable for a V8 application though - your best bet is the 'P' word. (procharger)

typical, they design a blower that won't suit a V8. Procharger - not heard of one of them - would it fit a BB ford and run with nitrous?

Hi Duncan,

Don't know them, but I sure would like copies of the photos (hint, hint).

Had another XB Fairmont turn up recently, last seen by ex-owner heading towards Southampton.

Yes and yes, though they can be run with an intercooler at high enough boost to make the nitrous a moot point.

Andy Neal (our man in NY State) has seen a few big bloxks with prochargers putting out 1200hp+ in streetable trim. For advice I'd say it would be worth talking to Andy directly (havn't heard from him in a while though).
