Had a fantastic afternoon blasting round today
I left the hood off, and took my box of jets, pump cams and tools and went up and down various local bits of dual carriageway.
Hoon, stop, tinker, hoon... repeat...
I've ended up with the orange pump cam which kicks in a bit sooner and stronger for the 1st half of it's stroke.
Primary mains now 73 (up from 70)
Secondaries still 86.
At idle- AFR 15.5ish, vac 5.
On full noise AFR 13-14
Now the mixture's close I felt confident to properly nail it to 6000 through the gears and it pulls like a train!
I think I'll call it quits with this carb and fit the dp.
Good news-
Not a drop of oil from the axle! All that cost me was new fluid.
Bad news-
It jammed in 2nd once. I had to lever the linkage free with a screwdriver.
The wonky rear tyre. It's bloody awful at anything over 75, but no way can I afford £3-400 to replace it
Front strut top bearing set-up is 5hite. I've ordered a pair of spherical bearings and I'll weld in a housing for them.
No-one will believe you...
