Leaking B Body
Water is getting in through the lower corner of the windscreen which I guess is bad news.
Advice please, should I take out the screen and fix the frame? Can handle the welding if needed but more worried about breaking the glass. Or is it something that can be fixed satisfactorily by just adding sealant?
I guess I know the answer but if anybody has a smart solution I'd appreciate it.

Yes the glass needs to come out. But how you go about that depends on what year car you have because around 69/70 Chrysler started bonding the glass directly to the frame rather than using a rubber seal.
But with the right techniques both can be done without breakage.
Just don't go prodding near the glass with anything metallic. And check prices and sources on replacement glass before you start.

Thanks Dave, thought it would have to come out dammit!!
It's a 70 Superbee. It looks like its bonded direct no nice easy fitting.
Have no idea where to start looking for replacement glass if the worst happens, it is slightly tinted just to make life more difficult/expensive.
Anyone know where I can source a replacement?

This is embarrassing!
Just lifted out the chrome surround and found more cheap and nasty black sealant than enough.
What next? How should i go about getting the screen out or leak repaired?

That does not look like a bonded in screeen to me.
Usually the rubber to steel is the leak point, so the best solution probably is to take the screeen out, clean / replace the rubber - ensure there is plent of sealent to the bodywork and then re-install the screen (If you have not already broken it like I did
)

Also bear in mind that the wiper spindles are prone to leakage and also the Plenum rots through so that could also cause internal leaks. Lots of choices on a Mopar!!!

may be ok re use original gasket if you soak in in a bucket of wd40 for a couple of days , but doubtfull they will go back the same now being 40 plus years old ,
if you have never done any glass stuff before , ask / get someone who is use to this stuff ,

yep same as a 68-70 charger , deffo best plan if the windshield gasket is more than a few years old , cut it out & get a new one , they harden with age & difficult & dangerous ( too much force required leavering putting pressure on glass , = broken windscreen ) to leaver over the glass when re moving & re fitting , these are not string in type windscreens ,jerry wrote:definitely looks like a rubber surrounding the glass. if your taking the screen

knife less chance of breakage taking it out

I've ordered a new windshield gasket from year one. If anyone knows a better or cheaper way to get stuff please let me know for future reference.
Will cut the old gasket to get the glass out when this arrives and then repair the surround as necessary. I can already see filler where there should be metal so expecting bad news.
Plans to get the car MOT'd and ready for the nats have been abandoned, will get the job done properly and hope to be on the road later in the year, just in time for get snow with my luck!

I'd always try Chris from Wasp regards bringing stuff into the UK if you can't find it here!
Direct from the states for replacement parts i use Rockauto....we also have a 5% discount code. Good stuff is you can select to pay VAT at order so it will arrive at your door in 5 days (ordered many times and thats the max time it has taken). Just make sure you select UPS......i accidentally overlooked this once and Parclefarce took 2 weeks and took a slice extra to give it to me!
Only used year one twice. Great company but bloody expensive. Same with Mancini and OPG.
Summit are good for aftermarket/upgrades and can do the same as Rockauto regards VAT.
Others may have better contacts.......Can only vouch for who i have used and enquired with!

Thanks to you guys managed to get the glass out without breaking it. Took the easy way out and cut the existing rubber at both sides and the top then the screen pushed out easily enough to lift out, just like Dave said.
Found about 1/8th inch of filler covering all holes, both rust and the drainage holes. Have now removed the filler and the photos show what an inglorious mess I'm left with. The car originally had a vinyl roof, does this account for the lack of finish at the join between the roof panel and the A post? There does seem to be plenty of decent metal to weld to but before I do that any helpful comments would be appreciated.
