Tig's new engine

Post by Dave-R »

Sounds like Tig's new engine for his "Bad Habit" Challenger is making really good power on the Dyno.

1018HP @ 6400rpm and 925lbs torque at 5200rpm.

Not bad for a naturally aspirated, pump fuel, wedge Mopar is it? :thumbright:

Yep, 11069cc, pump gas with perhaps a slight mix?, 2 x Dommies = potential of 9.0's at near 150mph, in a 3850lbs car, hence the chute. They still not quite got the handle of the chassis since lowering the car and moving the instant centre but getting close to sorting it.

The Chally is really a mega buck Street/strip car taken to the extreme!...just goes to show you what can be done on 11" slicks and caltracs though.

Does anyone know if Tig's running it at Shakey this weekend? :)
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

Whilst its very showmanlike to pull huge wheelies, and I guess we all like to see them, it is not, in most cases conducive to a best 60ft time and therefore the best ET, with the exception of some certified class Super stock cars that launch at 6000rpm+, thats why I believe he's dropped the car down a bit at the back, mini tubbed the car and finally succumbed to fitting the wheelie bars, (although they have not worked at present) in an effort to reduce how far the car comes up in readiness for even more torque from that monster motor.
