Bit of a consolidation morning today....finished routing the wiring and earth lead on the tank (gauge works fine now)....all new rubber breathers and fuel lines in, wheels on and a good clean as all the major bodywork is done bar painting. Have put my chrome wheel nuts on as per Blues suggestion and I do like the look....will make a final decision when car done.
Thanks Will.... shes coming together now....slowly but surely. Got a couple of bits to tidy in the trunk, drill and tap the rear arches for new bolts to locate the fender skirts and need to make up a new rubber bumper seal, then I can tackle the lighting electrics as one separate job.....that will be fun!!!
Mmmm...been thinking about getting rid of the side trim and welding the holes up then NASCAR look with painted silver bumpers etc...not sure if it will work with standard interior. Bit to do before I make that choice...

Only playing mate.
Stock with them wheels looks good. And you can always put trims back on for factory fresh look.

Roof painted this weekend....looked perfect in primer but not so good in black. The pillars and edges of roof are gleaming but the flat section is pitted and a bit dull despite wet sanding for ages...1200, 2000, 2500 then machine cut and polish. To be honest, it actually looks quite in keeping with the slightly weathered look of the car so will leave for now as plenty of other work to do for now.

Thanks men....it does look good with the black steels. Thought of that Ade and it is an option but the paint is dull in places so I dont think clearcoat will sort that properly???
Think I need to either take it right down to bare metal and repaint or find some sort of filler type primer or a thin skim of top stop to even it all out then repaint. Im not dwelling on it at the moment as I need to press on now with the MOT stuff. Any paint advice very welcome!!
