You may not even need a code reader to extract the fault code Trev.
Put the ign key in, rapidly cycle in this order, but don't turn to cranking;
Ign off/on, off/on, off/on
The digital odometer should come up with 'po _ _ _ _' look up the 4 digit code on Google and start fixin the Bananarama!

Had similar on an Isuzu Trooper, turned out to be a knackered primer pump. Also had air in the pipes because of the primer pump problem, cracked open the injector pipes one by one and cranked the engine until there was diesel flowing, problem sorted.
I think the primer pump is between the radiator and engine block, although it could be on the firewall

Depending how new it is, it could be a dpf problem. If you mainly drive round towns and not motorways it can block and and go into limp mode. If this is the case good diagnostic gear can force a regen to sort it out.TrevD wrote:its a 2.8 diesel
Really you need it on good diagnostic system to read all the data to see if something is out of the ordinary.
