Thanks for all the advice. Photobucket works great too.
I will ask the mechanic to use the rebuild kit I think to start off with.

I wasn't sure about the blue wheels but they've grown on me lol

Here are a couple of pics of what the car looked like when I bought it. Image

That's so much like my old one- same colour but much tidier!
Mine appears to have died sadly- it went off the radar a few years after I sold it

chinese, try it and if its not nice, swap in your rods jets and if the throttle plates are not drilled the same....them as well.

given a rebuild kit is £20 and there is probably an hour or 2 of work necessary on the throttle shaft bushings of any you buy second hand this looks a good deal.

i have one in the garage if you want to try it

if it works keep it and get me a new one.

Thanks for that Dave. Still haven't made up my mind yet!
Also its finding someone to fit it who knows what they are doing and won't rip me off! I am not sure about the mechanic who did the other work as since the brakes etc were done the car makes a chirping squeaking noise when being driven and only stops when I brake. He took it for a test drive and said its the uj as they are greaseless on valiants and dry out and squeak so he said he would get a new one fitted. When the uj on the stang needed replacing it made a droning noise and didn't chirp or squeak, any ideas anyone pretty please.?

The carb is worse since he had the car and Im pretty sure he's been ragging it up and down the A1.

Hello Steve :waving:

They are ok aren't they!

You can get greasable UJ's from US automotive for about £12. They are the same as any other Mopar. I know as I robbed the Charger one to get the Chally sorted late one night.
A UJ is very unlikely to squeak, they clonk and grumble and cause vibration when worn.

Hi again Sammy, it just dawned on me!
I picked up a VH Factory Service Manual a few months ago on ebay, it was looking like no one wanted it and I could not see it disappear never to find it's way to someone who would use it... so I bought it.

If you don't already have one you can have this one, my deal is this:
You pay me the price I did (£10) including post and give me first refusal should you ever decide to sell your charger.
The last bit of that deal is the important part to me! :thumbright:

I can promise that these are books worth every penny.

This is the ebay advert, so you can see what I am on about:

Sammy. Stick an ad for your Muzzy in the non Mopar section of for sale.
Might be handy to leave a means of contact in case a guest is interested.
