I`m no expert but I didn`t think they did a 360 power wagon ?? I thought they were 318 ???

Engine block casting number is 3418496 6 360, checked it out, 71-74
I was told its a 74.
Yes, a pity about the remote transfer box, I could have done with £500

Strip it, see what its like inside,if it needs a re -bore, get new hi comp pistons, oversize, check the bearings ect, if needed fit new ,fit the alloy big valve heads, fit the XE268 cam. new oil pump, air gap inlet, quick fuel 600 (want air speed)
If it doesn't need a bore, new rings , deck the block, and and other parts a mentioned, obviously no where that quick and simple, but you get the idea.
If it blows up build another one, but with better bits :thumbright:

I keep thinking about a stroker , but the cost involved compared to power out put, means that I probably wont
I'm not a drag racer, just want to build a traffic light special, and I don't have deep pockets,
I trying to spend as little money as possible , to get as much drivable power as possible.

Johnny, good build, but get more carb. 600 is too small for that much breathing.

Unfortunately , as I was originally going to build the 318, I bought a brand new quick fuel 600, so unless I can sell it ( never been out of its box) I will have to stick with that , until I can get a 750.
I think the air speed from the 600 will be ok , for what I want, but I know I will loose out some top end power.

They are good carbs Johnny and you'll certainly get a crisp response. Just make sure the final package is well balanced
Cam, compression, convertor (if auto) and rear gear ratio
Those are the critical considerations

Yes Miles,
I'm rebuilding my own 727 with all strong bits, the torque con is a 2500 stall, when i can find it in the shed, rear axle is a 3.73 locker.Dana HD44,
should cut the mustard :thumbright:
