Proper pie mash shops with sit down area n all tiled walls
Always have a endearing image of my Nan , always got a tub of jellied Eels, and sucking the meat just leaving the bone :(

Mcds, and the such cant hold a Candle to Pie Mash , sadly now shops dissappearing , family run , as previous reply , reciepes handed down for that top Liquor pour over.
MOPAR - Move Over Power Arriving Rapidly

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My Mopar upon you

You got it Doug.
Not many " proper" shops left now. Our local one is donkeys years old. Just started doing deliveries and business is booming. Added fresh shellfish to their delivery menu yesterday !!! :thumbright:

Beer and food like that I miss A LOT!

We are thousands of miles from the ocean here, and although freshwater fish cam be nice, not a patch on english fish.

Went out to eat a couple of weeks ago. the menu said fresh cod with fries!
Mmmmmmm, when it came up it was obviously frozen. tasteless and mushy.
I complained, so the serve bought me some balsamic vinegar. He said that is all it needed to taste right. He left with an earful from me. Then the manager came and told me I was wrong. I put him straight too!

Anyway, did not have to pay for it!
