Thanks men. To be honest, my favourite bit of the resto has been the bodywork. I havent rushed it and have made sure Im as happy as I can be with it before moving on. Its easy to do a panel, guide coat it and block sand it and say "it will do", only to find it needed one more skim and a few hours of sanding to be spot on. I just bang some tunes on and enjoy the fresh air and hope the weather holds out
I ordered some repro rubber splash guards and a set of OEM style stainless clips for her yesterday from Detroit Muscle Technology. Will add a nice finishing touch to the engine bay as the originals are long gone (hope they are bigger than in the picture)
Took advantage of the warmer weather today and, with the help of Mrs B juniors old hairdryer, I got some base and clearcoat on the drivers side rear quarter. Ive taken a dusting of colour and clear over onto the door so I can wet sand and blend it when its hardened off. Not a brilliant match but will look much better when polished etc

Maybe Gaz....Im looking at getting her MOTd, registered and then move her on so I can tick the next box....importing something. Depends on how I get on selling her and how quickly she goes, I have a mate who is interested but not until July so she might be around at some local shows etc
Managed to get the carpet in and the seatbelts.....still waiting for indicator switch number two so I can get the interior back together and finished. My tablet sees the carpet more pink than the nice, rich maroon that it is. It looks good but needs to settle a bit onto the floorpan as its a bit baggy in places

Hi Drew.....to be honest, this was always meant to be a learning tool to get started on bodywork, welding, resto etc (something I have always wanted to do. I am loving doing it but cant lose sight of the fact that Im not in a position to collect cars as such. I dont have the space or funds really. My next box to tick is to import something, probably another C body but nothing for sure yet....good fun looking and you guys dont know how good you have it there for choice etc!!

Yea we have tons of cars to chose from and at very reasonable prices,after I went to the Pod I never take it for granted anymore.
And glad you are honing your body/paint skills, it will pay off in the end ,most people are scared to death of body and paint,kudos to you for jumping right in and going for it, that is the way I learned it right out in the back yard, lots of trial and error and with todays paint it is very easy to buff out alot of mistakes
Yeah....Im doing it all outside using spray cans as I dont have the facilities on hand to use sprayguns etc. I use a local paint supplier to mix the basecoat paint into cans and then clearcoat it using PRO XL clear. I used to worry about little bits in the paint but have quickly learned that almost everything goes when I wetsand and buff. The cans are great as the spray pattern is wide and comes out similar to a spray gun. An expensive way to do it but great for my limited facilities

Yes that is a great way to go,we have a place here does the same thing I have used it and it works great
Wet sanded today (1200, 1500, 2000, 2500) then buffed and polished. Panel has come up good but as its a rich colour, the blending in on the door is very poor. My bodywork guru, Martyn, has given me some pointers so will try again on the door.
