Beautiful job mate.

My brother used G3 on the Jeeps plastic head lights to get the fogging out.
Good stuff

Thanks Gaz...I am pleased but disappointed at my feeble effort at blending in on the door. Will get there.....

The guy at the paint shop said to use G3 on a wet mop to start with then G10 on a dry mop to finish. Good stuff, not cheap but worth it.

I've heard that red is one of the worst colours to blend / colour match ?
So your not doing bad mate.
Garage forecourt lighting soon shows if a red car has had paint

If you see red under Sodium lighting it shows up every imperfection and colour variance........

Steve, give the car to me! Down in Cornwall the UV light classically turns all red cars to a dull shade of pink within a couple of years if they don't get polished.
I don't mind a bit of patina

Im getting there....indicator switch is at the post office waiting for me to go and give them a pint of blood to release it to me on Monday.

Whilst waiting, Ive tackled the drivers side boor blend from the rear fender and Ive painted and lacquered the passenger side rear fender.

With some advice, I masked the finished rear quarter and masked the top section of the door panel. I then 'flicked' the paint from a distance, just gently misting it and fading it into the original colour on the door. I then lacquered the whole door section. Next thing is to wet sand and polish when its hardened off.

Ive run out of lacquer now so the blend on the passenger door will get done next week.

PS.....I will fix the dink on the door properly. I rushed it a little unfortunately and it stands out now its painted. Not as bad in real life as in photo and better than it was

Thanks Rich....Ive been doubting my sanity recently with this, Im really enjoying doing it but need to be careful that my enthusiasm doesnt compromise the quality of my work. I Had just laid the first coat of lacquer today when I felt something hit me on my bald head....small hail stones. Luckily, most of them just rolled off the car but a few settled on the top of the fender. I managed to hairdryer them off before they did any damage thankfully. I kept the panel warm so was able to put a few more coats on with no issues. Could have easily gone wrong but was lucky this time

Not out of choice Miles but at least I can work off road on the driveway next to my garage so its not all bad

Finished up the blend on the drivers door today and its turned out ok. If you look really closely in the light you can see some spattering as the colour fades into the original colour. Next time, I will do this bit with a fresh spray can as the mist is better and finer from a new, full ok. Its ok though.

I wet sanded and polished the passenger side and, bar a couple of hickups, it has gone ok. Ive got a tiny bit of milking in the lacquer on the back edge of the wheel arch that will have to be flatted, painted and re lacquered on Tuesday. On one section, I left the mop in one place for a second too long without keeping it moving. Thankfully, I managed to use 1500 grit paper to flat the swirling out as it had only caught the lacquer. I did say this car was to learn on and the curve is very steep!!

Collecting indicator switch tomorrow so hopefully fitting is on the list for Tuesday morning together with the last of the paint
