Line lock advice needed

I've been looking for a line lock, needs to be an electric one though. Done some searching on the interweb and just got confused by the amount of variations.

All the ones I've looked at seem to be made to fit specific cars and the universal ones all look as though they need a fitting kit, but nobody lists a fitting kit for a 68 Charger.

Do I need a fitting kit or is it just a case of plumbing it in to the brake lines?
Does anyone have a link for the one I should be looking for from somewhere?

If it helps, I have a 383 with 727 and by the time the line lock is fitted it'll be manual discs up front and drums out back, I'm thinking of fitting the line lock to hold the front brakes on

Linelocks are "universal" so no specific kit as far as I am concerned.

I much prefer to put then on the front brakes so you can hold them onn, as opposed to fitting on the rear line to hold them off. I think the first option is safer, but each to his own.........

The Summit own brand, or Biondo is fine. All you need to do is fit it into the line for the front brakes from the master cylinder to the distribution block and wire it up. Any additional fittings you might need can be had from Torques Ebay shop.

If you going disk might want to put a bias valve in there also

I put willwood discs on the front of my sattilite and then after that if you braked hard it would lock the rears up first if you braked hard, so I guess disc brakes need more brake pressure than drums, so in this case id fit the brake bias to the rear drums.
But yes nigel do as suggested above and lock front brakes on rather than lock rear brakes off

I got a bias valve with the disc kit after reading that you need one to prevent the brakes locking up to early, I'll look at summit and biondo to order one.

Here is the manual one I have in my car mounted under the dash and it turns the back brakes off so I can control my burn outs and do one while moving.

I spoke to Anton about these last week.... The argument for having a manual one that cut the rear brakes out and leaves the front working is a winner as far as I can see... Allows for a controlled release... I will be getting Anton to fit mine by the end of the fingers crossed

I wired my electric one in the rear line with a switch on the dash to switch off the rear brakes. Ran the 1/4 and had forgotten to turn the rear brakes back on....Didn't do it twice!

Which is why you should only ever use a momentry switch with a line lock, once you take your finger off the button the brakes are back to normal.

Why would you want a controlled release? Your rear tyres are spinning anyway.

Manual activation is dangerous. Electric with momentary button on the fronts is the only safe way.
