OK i can see you pics on my phone

i think a bosch 55 will work as per diagarm 2 with your alternator

looks like it has 2 field terminals

if you wanted to use it with a mechanical regulator i think you'd need to loop one of them to earth, diagram 1 doesn't show this becasue its done inside the alternator or the alternator has an unused field connector on the outside of the case that has no insulating washer under it....so its earthed there.

Single wire are normally internal regulated and need to have 2000 rpm to excite alternator into charging

Thanks Dave

Gone for a Transpo 911

seems to be what all the big stereo boys go for.

Its a very high quality external regulator which is used in alot of light aircraft

if this works it could be a great alternative to the orange box or mechanical Mopar unit that i always here bad things about.

the orange box mopar one isn't mechanical

its electronic

the pre 1970 mechanical one, becasue it is basically contacts vibrating and swicthing the field off and on at a specific rate would or could have caused misfire.

the electronic one (the mopar one you get with orange, chrome etc) is ok provided its earthed properly

just a transistor and a bunch of diodes like the DIY circuit i listed.
aussie bosch 2 pin does exactkly the same thing for 1/2 the price
