flex plate
Moderator: Moderators
I queried this because of the advice I got here:
http://www.moparuk.com/forums/viewtopic ... highlight=
on page 2 and the flex plate given to me by Terryr which is the star shaped one.
I misinterpreted your advice Cannonball, you said:
"i have never seen a 383 with a cast crank, i would think its a steel crank so yes get rid of that flex plate you need one that looks the same but no cut out as yours has,, but double check and as has been mentioned check your crank damper the regular steel crank damper is only circa 1" thick the cast crank type are much thicker,"
So now I realise the forged crank could have a complete circular plate with no cutout.

just to add to this, are we saying all flex plates are the same for 727 boxes?
Reason I ask, I got a flex plate to replace my cracked one, and its 1" too large hole to hole diameter.
I am running a 904 transmission, so need a 10" hole spacing.
the 11" I got as a replacement has the same deal as far as the crank bolt pattern goes, and the lack of any balance weights.
Just want to clarify where the differences fit i.e. when is it a 10" and when is it 11"?
Never having worked on a 727 I don't know about them.

I always thought 11 Inch was 727 ( SB) that's what came out of mine when I changed things around. And 10 inch 904

crikey i get to correct, the bluester,,,,,,,,,,,Blue wrote:All stock flex plates are interchangeable, 6 pot, small block, big block, 904, 727. There are definately 2, possibly 3 different convertor bolt patterns across the range of vehicles, so you just need to find the right one for your convertor.

Geoff said this fits most of them. Bolt pattern the same as the one I got from Roydon, so I think they are all the same.
I thought the one in your garage was bolted to the converter for the Duster.
